Medium Douce share their creative process in new live music video for ‘Samovar’

Medium Douce have shared a live video for their track ‘Samovar’ –  the first cut from their latest EP ATTACCA  (released 19th of July via Uppwind Records.)

Medium Douce is a project that consists of four percussionists and electronic music enthusiasts. They compose all their songs themselves, writing music for a vast variety of percussion instruments and synthesizers.

The Paris-based band make use of both traditional and digital elements giving the song a vibrant and colourful feeling to it.  Blending together their signature percussion sounds with an upbeat house rhythm – making rolling grooves that allow the listener to fully immerse themselves into the texturally rich sonic embrace. The new video gives the viewer insight into their process, where they film themselves playing the song in their studios. It is a true masterpiece.

Medium douce had the following to share regarding their new EP ATTACCA: “Part of a basic idea of a loop of two chords, ATTACCA is the result of several collective improvisations and research sessions, where the ideas of each musician come together and agree to create a common sound. This minimalist-influenced music mixes acoustic percussion instruments and repetitive grooves of electronic music. The title is another inspiration from classical music, referring to the initial training of musicians.”
