Chill composer kyoshi shares delightful electronic EP balcony

As the year slowly draws to a close, kyoshi’s latest EP balcony is an oasis of listening pleasure from the hustle and bustle of life. Gentle piano keys meet rolling synth notes to form a vibrant 4-track experience that can be enjoyed alone or accompanied. kyoshi is a Vancouver based composer that grabbed the public’s attention with his debut EP via Stereofox earlier this year. He now returns with balcony, a warm and cathartic journey for the mind to unwind after another year that had its challenges for everyone. Since the release of his debut via Stereofox, the EP  has been streamed over 100 000 times since being shared in July.

Each track on the EP exudes a positive atmosphere. The first song ‘exhale’ hits the nail on the head with its title. The track is infused with rich lo-fi beats that feel like a breath of fresh air. ‘afternoon’ and ‘balcony’ follow the same energy. ‘balcony’ stands out with its mix of synth embellishments mixed together with lo-fi notes and glazed with a divine piano arrangement.

kyoshi shares: “This EP is inspired by those lazy days spent relaxing or unwinding at a personal happy place, which is especially important during the difficult times we live in. Whether it’s a balcony, a front porch, or at the beach, this release is about representing the comfort of those places and their healing effect. Sonically, balcony is part of my journey experimenting with introducing more electronic influences into my beats.”
