The Silent Room unveils mystical EP Fluorescent

The Silent Room unveiled his transcendental debut EP Fluorescent on October 18th via Meddle. The UK-based keyboardist, composer and singer-songwriter has an uncanny ability to craft luscious, intentional and profoundly heartening soundscapes. The EP focus track ‘Veins’ premiered on esteemed tastemaker publication METAL Magazine. His debut single ‘You’ll Never Know’ was released in September, and received acclaim from CLASH. With a seasoned musical background, The Silent Room (Tim Oliver) has played at illustrious music festivals such as Glastonbury, and performed as a keyboardist for the likes of Boy George.

In the EP, Tim wears his heart on his sleeve through vulnerable and honest songwriting, along with his dexterous composition. The EP opens with the title track ‘Fluorescent’ which submerges the listener into The Silent Room’s hypnotising synth-soaked universe. It’s a gentle opener featuring his tender vocals, immaculate guitar riffs and use of synths, all arranged in a manner that creates an expansive yet structured feel, which is reflected throughout the EP.

In the focus track ‘Veins’,  The Silent Room takes a more upbeat approach as the tempo is increased through a bold beat, synths reminiscent of the 80s and his textured voice gliding over the instrumental arrangement. This debut EP is indicative of an artist making music for all the right reasons. It’s authentic, virtuous and audacious, an absolutely triumphant offering from The Silent Room

The Silent Room shared: “This EP is a bit of a retrospective for me, musically as well as personally.  I love being in the world it lives in. I’ve always been drawn to records that flow well from start to finish and reward repeated listens, so I hope Fluorescent does the same for you.”
