Post-rock band RZWD unleash groundbreaking album GAPS

Polish experimental post-rock band RZWD unveiled their album GAPS on 25 October via Berlin-based experimental imprint Moniker Eggplant. This is the third album from the prolific band, which will also be available as a cassette tape for a limited run via Moniker Eggplant’s Bandcamp page.

The album features 8 colossal tracks which were recorded through live jam sessions and performances. The striking album merges post-rock with elements of experimental, noise and electronic dance music.

Carsten Rochow from DLF Kultur shares: “What RZWD have created with GAPS is a unique blend of experimental electronic music, hypnotic dub and instrumental noise rock. The result is both challenging and pleasing. It’s like watching a video where an empty bus crashes into a concrete wall at different speeds, each time causing more awe. That’s what GAPS feels like. Now, it’s your turn to take a ride!”

The lead single ‘LED House’ is 6 minutes 28 seconds of pure chaos, interwoven with cinematic peaks and dramatic drops. It has a sound that you just can’t quite pin down, which is incredibly refreshing. ‘LED House’ starts off quite unassuming with enticing bass guitar licks coupled with tough drums. It then switches up into a lighter experimental electronic atmosphere creating a foreboding effect, until the beat kicks in again with breathtaking drum hits, bass guitar riffs that suck their teeth into you along with electronic music effects that sound like an alien transmission. The track ends with a serene concoction of post rock and experimental electronica, leaving the listener yearning for more.
