Vocalist Maria Matveeva and Electronic Music Producer Deep Forest share their lastest collaborative single ‘Kalinushka’

Russian-born soprano opera vocalist Maria Matveeva, together with French multi-instrumentalist and electronic composer Eric Mouquet, better known as Deep Forest shared their latest collaborative single, titled “Kalinushka” on the 29th November.

The single is lifted from the pair’s upcoming three-track EP titled Siberian Trilogy Project,scheduled for release on December 21st.Although Matveeva may be best revered for her rich, empowering career in the opera world, she has always had an interest for experimentation within the realms of many genres and forms, which in turn led to this unique and dynamic duo’s collaboration.

Maria Matveeva, a one-of-a-kind artist with a flair for constancy and has had the pleasure of working with legendary musicians and producers in the past, such as David Bowie’s pianist, Mike Garson, notable for working with the likes of Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Italian-born pianist, keyboardist, conductor and composer Alessandro Alessandroni Jr and drummer, producer, and photographer Alex Elena – to name but a few.

Maria Matveeva and Deep Forest’s latest, “Kalinushka” comesahead of their mystically intriguing upcoming collaborative body of work, Siberian Trilogy Project. The track blossoms with powerful unison layered harmonies summoned by Matveeva, as transcendent synthesisers bounce back and forth before erupting into an absorbing and melodic electronic section provided by Mouquet; complimentary synth spills and chill yet crisp percussive beats against customarily celestial atmospheres conjured from the deities themselves.
