A vintage blend of keys and percussions, ‘Yesterdays and Silly Ways’ is an upbeat mix of drums, piano, and a brass section that gives it a cinematic quality reminiscent of old-school movie soundtracks. Jogging at a Slow-tempo, the track is pleasantly folky, quirky, and optimistic.
The Vinyl Floor band member (a Danish Pop-Rock outfit), Thomas tinkered with the record over time, adjusting it here and there until it was just right. He tells us: “‘Yesterdays and Silly Ways’ was the first song from the project I began work on right before the pandemic, and it’s the only song on the new album to feature a main theme which was actually written many years ago. We even played this song in my band Vinyl Floor a few times some 20 Years ago but even though the melody never escaped me, I wasn’t satisfied with the chorus.”
