Emerging Canadian producer Errance drops his second track, ‘Idyll’

Errance unveiled his second single, Idyll, on April 12th, 2024, through Société Holographique de Montréal. This release follows his debut single, ‘Guidance’, which garnered acclaim from CLASH Magazine, BBC Radio 6’s Tom Ravenscroft, and Deb Grant. Errance, the solo musical venture of producer, composer and DJ Gabriel Gagnon, emerges in the wake of his profound journey of introspection, self-discovery, and deep affinity with nature. Both singles are excerpts from his forthcoming self-titled album, Errance, scheduled for release on May 17th, 2024. Prior to venturing into his solo project, Gabriel had established a notable career as a producer and composer across diverse industries. He maintains a close musical bond and collaboration space with Hologramme. Under the guise of Errance, Gabriel presents a sonic landscape inspired by the influences of artists such as Floating Points, Mount Kimbie, Max Cooper, and Jon Hopkins.

‘Idyll’ showcases Errance’s versatility, departing from ‘Guidance’s deep, echoey resonance. It features a delicate progressive composition with a softly undulating breakbeat and fluctuating bassline. While maintaining Errance’s organic essence, subtle ambient elements intertwine with the pulsing rhythms, enriching the intricate instrumental arrangement.

Errance revealed: This song is an ode to spring, to reconnection, crafted with natural elements and enhanced with analog and electronic processes. It evokes the need to return home, to reconnect with something or someone that was gone for a while.”
