Multifaceted musician and producer Neacal released his debut album, Stranger From Long Ago, on October 11, 2024, via Neacal Music. The first three singles have received critical acclaim, with ‘Out of Control’ featuring on NOTION Magazine and ‘The Bell’ featured by CLASH Magazine and KEXP 90.3 FM. Neacal, who founded a well-known instrumental progressive/post-rock band with nearly 5 million streams, has also written soundtracks for video games. He wrote, produced, and mixed the album, with co-mixing by Ivan Lubianyi and mastering by Ian Shepherd. Influenced by artists like Woodkid and Agnes Obel, his music will appeal to fans of cinematic sounds.
Stranger From Long Ago is comprised of 9 beautifully-arranged tracks, showcasing Neacal’s talent as a composer and storyteller. Highlights include the ominous strings and captivating drums of ‘Morning Star’, and the playful instrumentation paired with intense lyrics in the focus track ‘Another Castle’ – altogether a promising debut.
Neacal divulged: “These songs, while being unraveled over the course of the last 3 years, became a refuge in my darkest months. Loss of loved ones, loss of home, loss of the life as I knew it—all of this pain transformed into these lyrics and melodies. And now it’s time for them to live their own life in this world.”
